My Favorite Husband
For any "I love Lucy" fan, you'll love these plays. If you're not a fan of Lucy, you'll still love it. These two episodes show why Lucille Ball is considered a legendary comedian and regardless of the fact that she's not in these episodes herself, the actors give brilliant acts.

The Nation's Health
Published in Paperback by Jones & Bartlett Pub (April, 1990)
Authors: Philip R. Lee and Carroll L. Estes
Average review score:

A comprehensive view of health policy development
This book provided my students with a clear view of the development of Health Policy in the United States. The articles in this text provided a clear explanation of what the definition of health is, how health policy has developed, comparisons to other industrialized countries, and where health policy reform has failed. This is an excellent text for undergraduate health policy students. It also provides a great deal of insight into the making of policy decisions in the United States

Never by Blood
Published in Paperback by Allen-Ayers Books (November, 2002)
Author: Noel Carroll
Average review score:

Plumb full of action
Noel Carroll is a composite name of a husband and wife writing team. Husband Noel is a former CEO, while wife Carol was a corporate executive. Together they have published novels, short stories and satiric essays. Circle of Distrust is another of their works.

Therese Elliott has a terrifying and realistic nightmare about her husband's upcoming launch of the shuttle Atlantis, twenty-five days before launch. In her dream the entire crew has been murdered by a madman, and she is seeing dead bodies through her husband's eyes. Little does she know, until she hooks up with a investigative priest from the Vatican, that she has unconsciously tuned into an international terrorist with his own agenda for disrupting the flight and destroying the space station. Sparks fly, and the very current issue of celibacy arises as Therese and Father John enter Lebanon to interview potential witnesses to a murder that would cast light on which of the space crew could be the culprit. Naturally Therese nearly gets herself killed when she dares to go for a walk close to the hotel to clear her head:

"Mustafa did not look convinced. 'The person who did this is known to us, my friend. Your hotel doorman recognized him and passed the information along to the police who quickly called us.' John did not ask in what capacity the doorman did this. In the city of Beirut, there were agents and friends of agents everywhere. He wondered what the man had reported back about himself and Therese."

Plumb full of action, Never By Blood has all the hallmarks of a great whodunit, international thriller style. The Noel Carroll team does a bang-up job of secreting the murderer among a fairly small list of potentials and completely faking out the reader in the most delightful way. Shuttle/Nasa details are complex enough to satisfy the biggest techno-nut. The power is in the details, and Never by Blood spares none. It is a multi-layered exercise in what excellent writing is all about. There is never a dull moment, and characterization is top-notch. A most amazing read. Please keep writing more of these...they're great!

Review of The New Star
We can't say enough about this book. Primarily focused on the creation and purpose of the Star of Bethlehem, it is a different but pure and truthful approach to sharing the Christmas story. It is both a scientific explanation AND an incredible testament of creation, AND is legal to read in public school! The illustrations are gorgeous, especially if you're an "outer space fan". The story is exciting, and there are optional flaps to open on each page that offer more biblical information on each portion of the story if you want to go further at home. This makes a great book for boys, and is for some reason very hard to find in retail stores, so get it here!

giving thanks to nick
I have Jaws and Surfrider and I think they are the most amazing books I have ever read. I learned a lot about big wave riders that I never knew before. They have a whole different mentality than what I belived them to have. Thanks for putting out such a great book for people like me, who dont like reading, but will make an exception for the exciting ones like yours! Night Games (Harlequin Temptation, No 530)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (March, 1995)
Authors: Janice Kaiser and Debra Carroll
Average review score:

WOW what a super writer and premise!!
Have a fantasy?? Sure you do. Well imagine you are celebrating your 30th birthday - with the girls (!!) and you are nattering on about Mr. Perfect. Well, that is the position Darien Hughes finds herself. And she is rather unhappy about the whole situation, too. I mean celebrating your 30th birthday should be something special, something memoriable....some more exciting than drinks with the girls.

Then she looks across the room and there he is - Mr. Perfect...tall, dark and handsome...alpha sexy male to the teeth!! Her friends dare her to invite him over, and they go on, pushing her...how often does this chance in a lifetime happen? She, being down to earth, leaves it at some heavy eye contact and wishful dreams.

Since she is a reporter, she writers a story about 'Sam' the blue eyed stranger and what might have been had she been more daring...how he was everything her fantasy man could be...since she is detailed in where the incident takes places, and a rather public figure...the table is suddenly turned...Sam calls her and makes her an offer...he will indulge her every fantasy...and not about to let this opportunity pass her by, she agrees...

Only, he has a few fantasies of his own.

Noah's Ark
Published in Hardcover by Publications International (December, 1994)
Authors: Michael Carroll, Kenny Haas #25, Play A Sound Classics, and Modern Publishing
Average review score:

A lot of fun, very interactive, grandchildren love it
Noah's Ark is one of the first books my grandchildren grab when they come to visit. They love the way the rhymes sound, and love pushing the buttons (this is one of those books that the kids push the sound buttons as you read it). It's very clever, and Noah is portrayed as a fun loving animal lover. He goes up in a tree to get the bears and has tea with them, he goes to gather mountain goats and they trim his beard. The drawings are whimsical, the story is very humorous, but the ending still pays reverence to Noah. It's a fun good humor book, perfect for 2-5 year olds. They love the story, they love the sounds, you'll love their smiles.

Olde Mother Goose
Published in Audio Cassette by August House Audio (April, 1993)
Authors: Hubbards and Anita Carroll-Weldon
Average review score:

As timeless and vibrant as Mother Goose herself!
I strongly urge you to buy this tape! My children have listened to it literally hundreds of times, and each time is a joyful occasion. Neither they nor I have grown tired of it. The songs are played on medieval instruments and the instrumentation is so unique and fun! The upbeat ones such as "Jack and Jill" and "Hey Diddle Diddle" make you want to get up and dance, while the ballads ("Lavender Blue", "Mary Mary Quite Contrary") are hauntingly beautiful. I have searched in vain for a second volume by the Hubbards, but alas, this is the only recording by them I have found. I can't recommend this recording highly enough!
